SYNOPSIS: DOD is amending DFARS 225.1101, Acquisition of Supplies, to reflect the U.S. Trade Representative's increase in the dollar threshold for the application of NAFTA to procurement of Mexican goods from $53,150 to $54,372.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: On March 31, 2000, the U.S. Trade Representative published a determination that increased the dollar threshold for application of NAFTA to procurement of goods from Mexico from $53,150 to $54,372. This final rule substitutes "$54,372" for "$53,150" to paragraphs (13)(i)(A) and (13)(i)(B) of DFARS 225.1101, which contain the prescriptions for the use of DFARS 252.225-7036, Buy American Act -- North American Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act -- Balance of Payments Program, and its Alternate I.
