SUBJECT: Small Business Administration Announces Its "Answer Desk" to Offer E-Mail Service

SYNOPSIS: On January 28, 2000, the SBA announced that it has expanded its "Answer Desk" service to the Internet, and that small business owners and entrepreneurs can now e-mail their questions about starting and growing their businesses to the SBA. The e-mail address is answerdesk@sba.gov.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: SBA's Answer Desk is the only national toll-free telephone service providing information to the public on small business problems and concerns (1-800-UASK-SBA (1-800-827-5722)). Its hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday. Spanish-speaking business specialists are available at the Answer Desk.
SBA is adding an e-mail capability to its Answer Desk. The e-mail address is answerdesk@sba.gov. Also, the Answer Desk may be accessed through the Internet site at http://www.sba.gov/answerdesk.html.
