ACTION: Proposed Rule
SYNOPSIS: DOD is sponsoring a public meeting to discuss the proposed rule on changes to DFARS Subpart 215.4, Contract Pricing, published on July 24, 2000. The proposed changes are intended reduce and eventually eliminate emphasis on facilities investment, increase emphasis on performance risk, and encourage contractor cost efficiency.

DATES: The public meeting will be held December 12, 2000, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Director of Defense Procurement Deidre Lee would like to hear the views of interested parties on what they believe to be the key issues pertaining to the July 24, 2000, proposed rule and potential alternatives. Subsequent to the discussions at the public meeting, the Director of Defense Procurement intends to publish a revised proposed rule for additional public comment.
A listing of some of the possible issues is included on the Office of Cost, Pricing, and Finance web site at http://www.acq.osd.mil/dp/cpf. The following are the possible issues that have been identified, and some possible actions in response:
