SUBJECT: Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS); Contractor's Request for Progress Payments

SYNOPSIS: The Defense Acquisition Regulations (DAR) Council is reviewing DOD's use of Standard Form (SF) 1443, Contractor's Request for Progress Payments, and is seeking the views of interested parties on (1) what improvements could be made to the form, including the instructions, for use on DOD contracts; and (2) any problems in using the form on DOD contracts.

DATES: Comments should be submitted on or before January 6, 2005.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: The DAR Council is seeking comments on the use of, and problems with, the SF 1443, particularly in the following areas:

  1. Any revisions necessary to improve consistency between the form and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.232-16, Progress Payments.

  2. Simplification of the form and its instructions.

  3. The effect any potential changes to the form may have on contractor and/or government systems.

Based on the comments received, the DAR Council will consider revising the SF 1443.
